November 2006 - Uniform Donations to Uganda - reported by Andy Hoang
"The past couple of days here in Uganda have been extraordinary. Amid all the chaos, poverty, sadness and suffering there are so many amazing things God is doing. The children touch your heart with a simple smile and a "hello." They make you laugh and cry all at once.
It's such a perfect feeling being around them.
I handed out baseball uniforms and equipment the other day. These children have never seen a baseball let alone put on a uniform.
If it weren't for the teachers I would've been trampled by a hundred screaming kids as they went absolutely nuts.
One by one, I slipped on the uniforms with hats, handed out the gloves, balls and bats.
They all learned how to throw, catch and hit pretty fast. We played for about an hour, as I threw batting practice to the new baseball team in Mukono. It was wonderful seeing how happy they all were throwing and hitting a ball for the first time in their lives. It was impressive to see many of them hit the ball a far distance."
October 2006 - Note from Andy Hoang before he left to Africa
"Thank you so much for this generous donation. This will mean the world to these kids in Entebbe .
I only wish you could be there when I hand out the uniforms and equipment to them. The response was overwhelming last year, when I delivered baseball equipment to orphans in Thailand . The kids had only seen the game of baseball on tv... needless to say they were pumped, and played ball all day, until the sun came down.
This is an amazing gift... thank you again for helping me and these kids."
December 2005 - Uniform and Equipment Donations to Thailand
